We were in France for 3 days on this tour, although we have both visited many times before.

Food & Drink: 4/10

We have to say, in answer to those gasps of disbelief, that this rating is for this tour only. Previously the food in France has been great, but on these few days it was very bad.

Road conditions: 7/10

In very good condition, and that goes for the minor roads too. They are also well signposted. There were not many cycle routes in the part of France we cycled through, but then again they were not necessary.

Traffic: 8/10

The roads are very quiet, and French drivers very considerate of cyclists. It is a nation big on this pastime, so cyclists everywhere are expected and not seen as a nuisance as they often are in Britain.

Scenery: 5/10

Again, for the very small part of France we were in, it was flat with fields. Not terribly exciting.

People: 5/10

To be fair, in the parts of France we went to, the locals are probably fed up with Brits who can't speak a word of their language. We would be.

Miscellaneous

Campsites in France are excellent, prolific, and fairly inexpensive. They are not only everywhere, but they are also signposted everywhere. Thumbs up.
